Install a Mod

This guide provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to install Animal Crossing: New Horizons mods on your Nintendo Switch.

Caution

This is a working-in-progress page. More info will be added in the future.

Requirements

• A modded Nintendo Switch
• A way of transfering files from a device to your Switch (FTP or USB)
• The files of mods that you want to use

Get Started

1. Create a backup of your save with JKSV (optional but recommended).

2. Download the mod you want to install from Gamebanana or any other trusted source.

3. Unzip the mod files you downloaded.

4. Transfer the mod files you downloaded to atmosphere/contents/01006F8002326000/romFs

   Note

   If the files are in a folder called atmosphere, you can copy/move the entire folder to the root of your Nintendo Switch.

Most mods needs a custom RSTB patch to work, most mods should work with the Universal RSTB, but if you are experiencing crashes or invisible items, you should create your own RSTB patch by following the Creating a RSTB Patch guide.
